After being on the road for over a month, the TCHS Vikings returned home to celebrate Homecoming against the rival Eagles of Crawford County on October 25, 2024.
Homecoming was a success as the Vikings routed the Eagles 44-9.
Early in the first quarter, the Eagles hit a long pass down to the Taylor County goal line.
The Viking defense stiffened up and kept the Eagles out of the endzone, forcing a short FG attempt for Crawford. A bobbled snap prevented the Eagles from converting the FG.
Later in the first quarter, AJ Wilder intercepted an Eagle pass setting up the Vikings in Eagle territory. Demarion Parks found the endzone for the Vikings’ first score. Leland Holder completed the 2 point conversion to put the Vikings up 8-0.
On the next possession, Markalan Newton had a long run to set up a short TD for Demarion Parks. A successful two point conversion put the Vikings up 16-0.
Later in the 2nd quarter, QB Brayden Ellison found Wilder for a TD pass to put the Vikings up 24-0. The Eagles answered at the end of the first half making the score 24-7 for the Vikings at the half.
After stopping the Eagles on a fake punt, Newton found the endzone again. After a successful 2 point conversion from Holder, TCHS was up 32-7.
After a Crawford County punt pinned the Vikings deep in their own territory, an errant snap resulted in a safety for the Eagles making the score 32-9 TCHS.
After another Wilder interception, the Viking offense went back to work.
Some strong running by Quao Thomas and a long pass to Chan Lumpkin set up a TD run for Ellison putting the Vikings up 38-9.
Later in the 4th quarter, Newton added another TD to make the final score 44-9 Vikings.
Go Vikings!
