If you are attending Thanksgiving lunch with your Taylor County Upper Elementary student on our new 3-12 campus, please see below for information about parking. Please make sure to check-in at the TCUES front office or with a staff member at the cafeteria entrance. Our Thanksgiving lunch will be this Thursday, November 21, 2024.
Our middle school basketball season kicks off today, so we wanted to let you know where to park and enter the building for all basketball games.
When attending a basketball game at the 3-12 campus, please use the 4 parking lots marked on the below image labeled Parking Lots A,B, C, and D. In the event that those parking lots are full, we ask that you parallel park in one of the driveway loops outlined in blue, green, red, or orange. Before parallel parking, make sure you are in an area that has two lanes with one-way traffic and can park in the right lane leaving the left lane open for exiting vehicles. If you park anywhere other than the designated areas described, you will be asked to move your vehicle.
All visitors for basketball games must use the entrance by Parking Lot B to access the building. This building entrance is marked by a yellow "X" on the maps.

On behalf of the Taylor County Board of Education and the faculty and staff of the Taylor County School System, we offer our condolences to the family of Mr. Ronald S. Harris. Our hearts are saddened by the news of his passing. While Mr. Harris held other positions in the school system, his time as a school board member is the most well-known. He served as a school board member for 28 years. We are grateful for his dedication to public education and service to the students of Taylor County for so many years. In his memory, we will be placing a wreath on the door of the central office. He will be greatly missed.
With our deepest sympathy,
Jennifer Albritton,
Taylor County School Superintendent

Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,
While there is still work to be done on the 3-12 campus, we are excited to host an open house for students, parents, and guardians on Monday, January 8th. We will open the doors on January 8th from 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Hopefully, this will allow you to plan a time that will be convenient for you.
A driveway and parking layout is available by clicking the link below. For the open house, please access the campus through the main driveway off RL McDougald Drive. There will be three parking lots available for you to park for the open house. Please use parking lot B, C, or D. We ask that you enter the building through either the main elementary school entrance or the main middle school/high school entrance. Those entrances are near parking lot C and D, and there are cast stone signs directly above those entrances.

3-12 Open House Information
December 29, 2023
Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,
As we approach the beginning of the second semester of the 2023-2024 school year, I know you have questions and concerns about our move into our new school. Our teachers will be returning on January 3rd with several days to prepare for the return of students on January 10th. While there is still work to be done on the 3-12 campus, we will be excited to host an open house for students, parents, and guardians on January 8th. We will open the doors on January 8th at 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Hopefully, this will allow you to plan a time that will be convenient for you. A more formal announcement of the open house is forthcoming. We will also provide a driveway and parking layout in the coming days. In general, the buses and employees will utilize the driveway off of East Main Street. Our student drivers and parents will access the campus through the driveway off of RL McDougald Drive.
Once our new campus is closer to final completion, we plan to host a community event to include a ribbon cutting ceremony and an open house for the community. We will provide a more formal announcement once that date is set.
I am grateful for the support and excitement you have shown for our new school, and I can’t wait for everyone to get a chance to see it. I hope you continue to enjoy the holidays, and we look forward to welcoming our students back on January 10th.
Respectfully,
Jennifer Albritton
Superintendent
An Expression of Sympathy to the Family of Horace Wilder
On behalf of the Taylor County Board of Education and the faculty and staff of the Taylor County School System, we offer our condolences to the family of Horace Wilder. He has served our school system for over 40 years through his work as a bus driver and a custodian. In recent years, he has served part-time as a custodian inspiring us as he persevered through health challenges. Our hearts are broken as we reflect on his faithfulness to serve the students of Taylor County for so many years. He will be greatly missed. In his memory, we will be placing a wreath on his old bus in front of the high school and on the sign at the bus garage.
With Our Deepest Sympathy,
Jennifer Albritton
Taylor County School Superintendent
