Cafeteria Managers attend GSNA National School Lunch Week Kick-Off Luncheon


Shown in the photo left to right:  Taylor County Middle/High School Cafeteria Manager, Mrs. Dee Tribble; Taylor County Primary School Cafeteria Manager, Mrs. Rhonda Windham; Taylor County Upper Elementary School Cafeteria Manager, Mrs. Angie Wainwright; and Taylor County Director of School Nutrition, Ms. Martha Harvey.

Cafeteria Managers from Taylor County Schools represented the local schools at the GSNA (Georgia School Nutrition Association) National School Lunch Week Kick-Off Luncheon on Thursday, September 27, 2018.  The Luncheon and Education Public Relation Seminar are held each year in Macon, Georgia.  They are designed to help school systems promote their local school nutrition programs and educate students, parents, school staff, and the community about their programs and passion for feeding hungry children.  Taylor County School Nutrition Program Cafeteria Managers assisted School Nutrition Director Martha Harvey in receiving several awards.  The awards are as follows:

·         USDA Georgia Best Practice Award for Farm to School Program

·         USDA Georgia Best Practice Award for Program Integrity (Incentive Salary Program for School Nutrition Staff)

·         USDA Southeastern Region Best Practice Award for Program Integrity

Many plans and new ideas are being developed for school nutrition in the Taylor County Schools.  With the support and assistance from Superintendent Jennifer Albritton and the Taylor County Board of Education, the school nutrition program is expected to increase participation and student satisfaction.
