The Luncheon and Education Public Relation Seminar are held each year in Macon, Georgia. They are designed to help school systems promote their local school nutrition programs and educate students, parents, school staff, and the community about their programs and passion for feeding hungry children. Taylor County School Nutrition Program Cafeteria Managers assisted School Nutrition Director Martha Harvey in receiving several awards. The awards are as follows:
· USDA Georgia Best Practice Award for Farm to School Program
· USDA Georgia Best Practice Award for Program Integrity (Incentive Salary Program for School Nutrition Staff)
· USDA Southeastern Region Best Practice Award for Program Integrity
Many plans and new ideas are being developed for school nutrition in the Taylor County Schools.
